Oilers Fall to Canucks 3-2 in Shootout

Miller's Late Goal Lifts Vancouver Past Edmonton

Elias Pettersson scored the only goal in the shootout as the Vancouver Canucks edged the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Tuesday night.

J.T. Miller tied the game with 32 seconds left in regulation for the Canucks (34-30-9), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Andrei Kuzmenko also scored in regulation for Vancouver.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl scored for the Oilers (45-25-5), who have lost three of their last four games.

Thatcher Demko made 31 saves for the Canucks, while Jack Campbell stopped 27 shots for the Oilers.

The Oilers took a 2-0 lead in the second period on goals by McDavid and Draisaitl, but the Canucks rallied in the third.

Kuzmenko got Vancouver on the board with a power-play goal at 5:20 of the third, and Miller tied it with his 32nd goal of the season at 19:28.

In the shootout, Pettersson scored the only goal on a backhand shot.

The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Calgary Flames. The Canucks will play the next game on Friday when they visit the Seattle Kraken.
